The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for Second Harvest Food Bank's (SHFB) inventory control through data entry into inventory software (Primarius), data collection and analysis, providing reports to management and fiscal and assisting inventory issues across all programs while adhering to the American Institute of Baking (AIB) requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Internal Inventory Control

  • Responsible for inventory control through the use of inventory software (Primarius), including receiving, inventory handling (put-away, picks and movements), location setup, and physical inventory. 
  • Conducts random cycle counts of inventory to ensure accuracy and proper storage location. 
  • Researches and resolves inventory discrepancies including but not limited to researching member agency claims, cycle counts for missing product, adjust inventory quantities, handle damaged inventory, disposing of inventory. 
  • Effectively communicate with Operations Manager and Warehouse Supervisor to ensure a comprehensive understanding of all inventory movement (receiving, sorting, repack, distribution, internal transfers, etc). 
  • Responsible for making recommendations and setting policy to prevent recurring inventory issues. 
  • Reports to Operations Manager with any inventory discrepancies, their root cause, and recommendations for improvement. 
  • Responsible for the maintenance of accurate and complete inventory records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

AIB Management

  • Review, update, and implement all AIB program requirements annually.
  • Maintain AIB Documentation including Master Cleaning Schedule and other associated materials.
  • Schedule, manage, and document Food Safety Committee meetings.
  • Work with warehouse leadership and encourage food bank team members to follow AIB requirements and maintain the facility to keep food safe for our agencies and consumers.
  • Earn and maintain Food Handlers Certification and develop solid understanding of sanitation program.
  • Represent SHFB and ensure successful AIB audit. Share findings with SHFB team and leadership. Make adjustments and improvements based on audit findings.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday (flexible)

Required Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED required
  • A minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience preferred
